At 03:51 last night (Saturday), Israeli residents were awakened by the sound of air raid sirens in several areas across the country, as families were once again forced to descend into shelters. According to a statement from the IDF spokesperson, one missile launched from Yemen was successfully intercepted, and alerts were activated in accordance with established policy.

The incident comes two days after Israel Katz, the Defense Minister, published a stern warning directed at Yemen. On September 11, Katz posted on X: "We promised more strikes, and today we prepared another painful blow to the Houthi terrorist organization in Yemen. The IDF has now attacked in Sana'a and additional locations throughout Yemen, targeting military camps populated by Houthi terrorist operatives, including the Houthi propaganda apparatus, as part of Operation 'Bell Chimes'".

The Defense Minister emphasized in his post that "the long arm of the State of Israel will reach and strike terror wherever it may be and wherever threats to our citizens emerge". The statement came as part of Israel's system of responses against Houthi attacks from Yemen.

The overnight attack demonstrates the continued security pressure on Israel, as civilians are forced to cope with sleep disruptions and shelter descents in the middle of the night. The latest incident joins a series of security events that Israel faces across multiple theaters on an ongoing basis.

The IDF continues to operate within the framework of Operation "Bell Chimes" declared by the Defense Minister, aimed at responding to Houthi attacks and deterring additional terrorist activities from Yemen's direction. The operation includes strikes on military targets and the propaganda apparatus of the Houthi terrorist organization in the Sana'a areas and additional locations throughout the country.

The fire from Yemen constitutes part of the broader arena in which Israel operates, as security forces are required to deal with threats from multiple directions. Israel's security establishment continues to operate to ensure citizen safety and respond decisively to any attempt to harm the state's territory.

The incident illustrates the security complexity faced by Israeli citizens, as alerts are expected to continue in the coming period as part of the broad campaign the state is conducting on multiple fronts simultaneously.
