Air raid sirens were activated after midnight in the center and south of the country following missile fire from Iran toward Israel. The barrage included only 10 to 20 missiles and is considered relatively small. Just three minutes after the preliminary warning, air raid sirens sounded in the center and south. Most of the missiles were intercepted by defense systems or fell in open areas without causing significant damage.
As of 00:49 on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, no damage or casualties from the barrage were reported, apart from minor injuries sustained during the move to protected areas. Security forces continue to examine the area and assess the situation.
Concurrently, significant diplomatic developments were recorded. President-elect Donald Trump declared that "Iran wants to make a deal", while the Iranian Foreign Minister clarified that "we have not left the negotiating table". Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the incident and said there are "major achievements" for the State of Israel.
The incident occurs against the backdrop of ongoing tensions in the region and appears to be a continuation of Iran's efforts to pressure Israel while maintaining a controlled level of escalation. The security establishment continues to monitor further developments.
