Today, about six hours ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu caused a public uproar when he published extremely serious accusations on the social network X against the head of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), Ronen Bar, and against the Attorney General, Gali Baharav-Miara. In the dramatic post, Netanyahu revealed information claiming there are "additional shocking recordings" allegedly documenting extortion and threats by the deputy head of the Jewish Division in the Shin Bet against police officer Avishai Moalem.

In his statement, Netanyahu detailed that Moalem refused to carry out "false arrests" of Israeli citizens, as allegedly demanded by the head of the Jewish Division in the Shin Bet. After his refusal, Netanyahu claims, Moalem was suddenly arrested on suspicion of corruption, with the approval of the Attorney General.

He also attacked the performance of the Shin Bet head during the October 7 events, saying that Ronen Bar "failed terribly on October 7 and has since lost the confidence of the entire government". In conclusion, Netanyahu demanded that Bar "stop entrenching himself in his position and vacate his place immediately".

These accusations by the Prime Minister come against the backdrop of ongoing tension between the Prime Minister's Office and the heads of the law enforcement system and security agencies.
