A few hours ago, Defense Minister Israel Katz posted a brief but sharp message on X: "Tehran is burning". The message came following successful Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.

According to BBC reports from approximately 45 minutes ago, Iran launched a new wave of missiles toward Israel during the night hours, while the Israeli Air Force carried out effective strikes on targets in Tehran. Iran fired 100 missiles as part of the second wave of Operation "True Promise 3", and the IDF announced that the Air Force attacked military targets in Tehran, while professionally intercepting missiles fired from Iran.

The Israeli strikes expose the technological and operational gaps between Israel and Iran. While Israel demonstrates advanced capabilities in precision strikes and air defense, Iran struggles to respond effectively. The situation in Tehran testifies to the success of the Israeli operation.

Testimonies provided by Iranian citizens to the BBC reveal the heavy price paid by the Iranian people as a result of the extremist regime's policies.

A woman from Tehran described the fear prevailing in the capital: "I haven't been able to sleep for two nights already. I was alone at home. During these nights I went through very difficult moments. I remembered my childhood, when I was five or six years old, I remembered the bombings and hiding in shelters. The difference is that then, at least when there was an attack, we heard sirens or received advance warnings. Today, during bombings or air strikes, there are no sirens and no warnings".

Continuing her words, the woman added sadly: "We live in a society where the first thought that crosses my mind as a woman – even when I'm dressed in comfortable clothes at home – is that I don't have the courage to run outside during shelling. At such a moment, the first thing I think about is: what should I wear?".

Another woman described the feeling of despair: "I think all the people in Iran, especially in Tehran – and I'm among them – are trying to stay home because of the psychological pressure and tension we live in, mainly for the sake of our children. We all thought about moving to smaller cities or villages, anywhere we could reach, but each of us has loved ones who cannot leave – and we think about them".

Another resident criticized the Iranian regime: "This combination of emotions and experiences we're going through is simply unfair to any of us, the people of Iran. The fact that we cannot do anything, and that the feeling is one of paralysis – this is something disturbing and very difficult. We feel sorrow that our country's leaders are not interested in any of us, nor in our lives – and we're all trying to survive these days in fear, fatigue, and enormous psychological pressure".

The testimonies reveal the gap between the Iranian people and the extremist regime ruling over them. While citizens suffer from the regime's aggressive policies, Israel is forced to defend itself against existential threats. The Israeli operation proves that Israel will not tolerate threats to its security and the lives of its citizens.

Israel is forced to fight for its future in confronting an extremist Iranian regime pursuing nuclear weapons. Damage was caused in Israel, but in Iran the damage is much more severe and serious. The obvious question is why the Iranian regime continues to drag its people into a futile war against an advanced and strong country like Israel, instead of caring for its citizens' welfare and security.

The ceasefire collapsed last night as the Air Force attacked dozens of terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip. The IDF launched a widespread surprise offensive under political leadership directive, for the first time since the ceasefire deal began.

The Prime Minister's Office stated: "Hamas has repeatedly refused to release hostages. The strikes are intended to achieve the war's objectives. From now on, we will act with increasing military power". It was also noted that the operational plan was presented at the end of last week by the IDF and approved by the political leadership.

Following the deterioration of the security situation, schools in the Gaza envelope have been canceled. Palestinian sources reported approximately 100 casualties and injuries in less than an hour from the start of the attack. Hamas later claimed the number had risen to more than 230 dead.

The IDF and Shin Bet confirmed in a joint statement that they are "extensively attacking Hamas terrorist targets throughout the Gaza Strip" and indicated that additional details would be provided later.

Defense Minister Israel Katz stated: "Tonight we returned to fighting in Gaza against the backdrop of Hamas's refusal to release the hostages, and threats to harm IDF soldiers and Israeli communities. If Hamas does not release all the hostages, the gates of hell will open in Gaza, and Hamas murderers and rapists will meet the IDF with a force they have never known before. We will not stop fighting until all hostages return home and all war objectives are achieved".

The Hostages' Families Headquarters responded sharply to the renewed fighting: "The greatest fear has been realized – the government has chosen to abandon the hostages". This response reflects concerns that renewed military action could endanger the lives of hostages still held by Hamas.

According to the IDF spokesperson's announcement, following a situation assessment, changes were decided in the Home Front Command's defense policy. Starting at 2:00 AM, the Gaza envelope guidance area will transition from full activity level to reduced activity level, which does not allow for educational activities. In contrast, the Western Negev and Western Lachish guidance areas remain unchanged – full activity.

The decision to resume fighting comes after a period of complex negotiations that did not yield the hoped-for results from Israel's perspective. According to the Prime Minister's Office, the strikes are intended "to achieve the war objectives as determined by the political leadership, including the release of all our hostages – both living and deceased".

The renewed offensive marks a significant change in Israeli strategy, following a period of relative ceasefire. The IDF spokesperson emphasized the importance of continuing to follow the guidelines published by the Home Front Command through official distribution channels and noted that complete guidelines are updated on the National Emergency Portal and the Home Front Command app.

Nevertheless, Israeli leadership continues to emphasize its commitment to returning all hostages and achieving the defined war objectives.
